Developed by Stanislav and Christina Grof, Holotropic Breathwork is a safe method for inviting an expanded state of awareness through using active breath, evocative music, integrative arts and group process. This world-renowned modality offers opportunities for deep transformation, becoming more familiar with our vast inner landscape, and tapping into our intrinsic healing wisdom. Since the 1970s, thousands of people worldwide have found Holotropic Breathwork an important catalyst and companion in their spiritual journey.
On the weekend of November 10-11, Grof-certified facilitators Jay Dufrechou and Kirsten Kairos will offer a full experience of Holotropic Breathwork at Dancing Lotus Center, with an explanatory and community-forming gathering on Friday November 10 and two sessions of breathwork on Saturday November 11 (each participant will “breathe” once and “sit” once for a breathing partner).
In this gathering on October 13, Jay will provide an overview of Holotropic Breathwork, including the invitation to “feel into” some of the experiences available in breathwork. We will sample some of the music typically accompanying Holotropic Breathwork and explore some of the modes of expression common to many people during full Holotropic Breathwork sessions.
This evening will be of interest to those considering registering for the November Holotropic Breathwork experience, or simply curious about Holotropic Breathwork and/or the work of renowned psychiatrist and explorer of consciousness Stanislav Grof, one of the founders of the transpersonal psychology movement. In addition to offering a sampling of Holotropic Breathwork music and movement modalities, Jay will provide an overview of Grof’s work and answer any questions from the community. This evening will not involve a full experience of Holotropic Breathwork or movement toward deep expanded state experience.
